Since 2012, I have been donating a percentage of Rookie Scouting Portfolio sales to charity. This is something I have wanted to do for a long time. I am using Charity Navigator to guide my decision and I have narrowed it to a handful of organizations that have earned at least three stars for their organizational efficiency. I had been asking for readers’ help to decide the charities, but once the Penn State scandal broke, I decided to send the funds to the program Darkness to Light.
Darkness to Light – Excerpt from their mission statement: “Darkness to Light is a national organization and initiative. Our mission is to empower people to prevent child sexual abuse. Darkness to Light’s public awareness campaign seeks to raise awareness of the prevalence and consequences of child sexual abuse.”
The RSP has donated approximately $70,000 since 2012 to D2L.
I know this isn’t why you’re doing this but as we say down South, “Good on you”, Matt. Proud to be your friend.
Thanks, Joe. The feeling is mutual, my friend.
Agreed, it’s a great cause. Glad to see $2 per RSP downloaded being donated.
Well done Matt. If everyone just did a little something for someone else just imagine the out come.
Thanks Larry and Zach. About to make my first donation on behalf of the RSP at the end of this month.
Hey! Just discovered you from JJ Zacharison podcast. Would love to download your guide but I can’t use PayPal. Do you take any other form of payment?
Hi Scott,
Emailing me in the future mattwaldmanrsp@gmail.com is best. I only offer Paypal. May change that next year.
